Busy Days for D-Link and SECL

Staff Reporter □ D-Link and Spectrum Engineering Consortium Ltd. (SECL) arranged a series of programs. The programs included meeting with SICT Minister, seminar, D-Link Netvision and training program. The programs were held during 19-21 February 2004.

A three-day long training was held on D-Link Certified Network Integrator (DCNI). The training primarily focused on technical level of D-Link channel partners system integrators and corporate users for the understanding of current networking market trend and how D-Link products fit into this market. The activities        included lectures,

demonstrations, practical sessions and written tests. The training was conducted by Vishundas Silimkhan, Manager Tech support, D-link India, Tanveer Ehsanur Rahman and Ahasan Mohid Chowdhury of SECL. The training was held at Independent University Bangladesh (IUB). Dr. Md. Anwar, Director of School of Communication, IUB inaugurated the seminar, while 82 participants took part in the training program.’ The certificates were awarded for D-Link Certified Cable Integrator ” (DCC1) training conducted in last January. The DCNI certifications will be awarded after evaluations are completed.

The D-Link team led by Forkan Bin Quasem, Managing Director of SECL had a meeting with honorable Minister of Science & ICT Abdul Moyeen Khan. He was briefed on present status of the country’s ICT industry and business situation. They also briefed him about SECL and.D^Link’s-”plans for Bangladesh. On the occasion of D-Link Netvision 2004, a press conference was held on 19 February at a local hotel in Dhaka. The journalists were briefed on country IT situation of Bangladesh, upcoming networking and communication technologies and products. D-link Team and Managing Director of SECL spoke in the press conference.

In 1998, Spectrum Engineering Consortium Ltd. introduced D-Link in Bangladesh market; now it commands more than 40% market of all networking products and solutions. They have 80 Resellers and System Integrators in Bangladesh.

D-LinkNetvision 2004 was held with active involvement of participants. This is a show to introduce new range of high-tech path breaking technologies and products. NetVision also serves as a market education program. D-Links clients and business partners also have been awarded in the event. For consecutive second year this show D-Link Netvision has been arranged. Dr. Md.   Anwar,   Director   of   School   of Communication, IUB, spoke as the guest speaker. P.Vyas, Director Sales and Marketing, D-link India gave the Theme Presentation, the Technology Demonstration was done by Shekar Kulkami, GM Sales and Tanveer Ehsanur Rahman. The event was Attended by

representatives            of corporate houses, banks, real estates, universities ISPs, resellers and system integrators. Daffodil Computers Ltd., Information solutions Ltd.(ISL),Beximco

Computers Ltd, CyberNet, Business Technology, Total Office systems & solutions (TOSS) and NCLL Systems Limited           received awards as System Integrators of D-Link:, and in Reseller category RM Systems Limited, Rishit Computers, Khan Jahan Ali Computers, Titottoma Computers and Communication,  and Business Link.Computers “LTd. was also awarded. Other organization’s who got the corporate awards are Grameen Cybemet Ltd., Connect BD Ltd, Islami Bank Ltd, Arab Bangladesh Bank Ltd, Prime Bank Ltd, Basundhara Group, Independent University and Development of ICT Project.and Prime Minister’s Office. Both Spectrum and D-Link, thanked business partners and clients for D-Link success in Bangladesh.
