SONY India announces launch of vibrant range of VAIO E series laptop via ‘GO VIVID’ campaign with Kareena Kapoor
Sony India today announced the launch of the fun & vibrant, easy-to-use VAIO E Series laptops. An ideal personal computer for everyday use, the new E series provides a variety of screen size & configurations. Sony’s new VAIO E series laptop comes with vibrant & glossy colours and also matte colour variations to add zing in your lifestyle. To mark the launch of the new E series, Sony will also launch a brand campaign called ‘GO VIVID’ with Brand Ambassador, Kareena Kapoor. Her exuberance & vivacious personality brings in a direct connect to the vibrancy of VAIO E Series colours. Like Kareena, who strikes a chord in the minds of the masses, Sony VAIO E series leaves a vivid memory of an expression that’s truly refreshing and vibrant, and that’s why the message, ‘GO VIVID’.

Gorgeously styled to stand out from the crowd, the E Series laptops make a remarkable style statement. The Glossy basic colours, Black and White, with square gradation finishes are complemented by the Glossy Vivid colours, Blue, Pink, Green, Black and White with dot gradation that demand attention when you’re out and about. A silvered VAIO logo “floats” on the notebook’s top panel, giving the depth and the richness, like a glass full of water that is about to pour off the edge.
The E-series is available at a starting price of Rs.34,990/-* for both 35.56 cms and 39.37 cms screen size respectively. The new range of notebooks will be available across Sony Center stores and retail partners across the country.

For VAIO category, Sony has allocated a total budget of Rs. 20 crores towards ATL and BTL activities that involves print and electronic media, online, outdoor and shop-front.
The consumer notebook market in India is currently estimated at 10 lakh units and is expected to increase to 12.5 lakh units by FY2010.
In FY09, Sony achieved a market share of 12%; targets 20% by FY10 with the launch of the new VAIO models.
In FY09, Sony sold 1.2 lakh notebooks which is expected to go up to 2.5 lakh notebooks by FY10.
Expansion of Channel Network to 1,500 counters by FY2010 across 200 cities up from 700 sales counters in FY09. VAIO Exclusive Brand shops also to increase to 50 counters by FY2010.
