In a major policy change, Matsushita Electric has begun development of superfast business-use workstations. At present, Matsushita develops and sells workstations incorporating Sun Microsystems’ technology in an agreement with the company.
Matsushita will develop an ultrafast bus II and application programs for its new workstation. It is expected that the new business workstation will be a modified and upgraded version of its current engineering workstation. It will be aided by Sorbonne of Colorado, USA, a firm in which it has a 52-per cent equity. Both firms have cooperated in the development and the sale of workstations since long. ?
